On a recent visit to the New York Trade Fair NYNOW I was lucky enough to meet up with the people behind Twigs and Moss..... A small family business based in South Carolina, they sell beautiful glass plates, hand made using vintage papers and glass also sourced from a small family business. I am delighted to say that a selection will soon be available to buy on my website ... watch this space... They make beautiful gifts - although you may not want to part with them....

For one of our latest picnic hampers - The Highland Rose - I chose some very pretty china in green and gold with roses and flowers to complement the lovely green and violet tartan lining of the Hamper.  But before deciding on its name I thought I better do a little research to see if the Scottish Highlands and roses are a god match. Turns out they are... Countdown to the Beaufort Festival of Polo....

We are very much looking forward to being at this years Festival of Polo at the Beaufort Polo Club with our first ever trade stand. I've attended the event many times over the years - it's always a lovely family day - quite compact with lovely shopping (!) - bars and food stalls - a polo match is such a spectacle. Preparations are in full swing here - hampers for 2,4 and 6 in different shapes and sizes have taken over the house, garden and summerhouse- along of course with our lashings of delicious vintage china Table cloths , banners,...

It was a recent visit to Fortnum and Mason’s department store that inspired me to bring The Vintage Hamper Company to life… When living in London, and since moving to Bath, an hour or two spent wandering in Fortnum’s taking in the delights of the foodhall, the beautiful stationary, the millinery and handbags, perhaps a glass of English sparkling wine in the wine bar, but above all the fitted picnic hampers and the Fine China department has always been a joyful time out for me.
